PROGRAMS

Kids Class (Ages 6-8 yrs)

The kids class is designed to be fun while teaching the basics of kick boxing and jiu jitsu; but is also competitive.  Kids learn more advanced techniques and regularly get to put their techniques into practice during grappling and kickboxing drills and sparring.  Dealing with bullys through verbal and non verbal methods are practiced extensively.  This class usually begins with a game of dodgeball to warm up and then concentrates on stretching, grappling and kick boxing drills, obstacle courses, fitness, and sparring.  Students also learn about the importance of healthy eating and through regular attendance begin to develop healthy exercise habits.


Youth Class (Ages 9-13 yrs) 

The youth class is where students really begin to notice their power and see their hard work and dedication pay off.  Basic to advanced techniques are taught while still focusing on having fun.  Classes include plyometrics, stretching, strength training, self defense, bully defense, kickboxing and grappling.


Teen & Adult Class (Ages 14 to adult) 

The teen/adult class provides individuals with the opportunity to learn Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Kickboxing, and Mixed Martial Arts.  Fitness is a core component of the class - circuit training, plyometrics, and strength and conditioning drills are regularly used.  Not all students will wish to be competitive - those who do want to compete are given the opportunity to put their techniques into practice at competitions at the provincial, national, and international levels.

Please bring these belt requirements to each class and use it as a guide to practicing outside of class. A typical class consists of a warm up, followed by stretching, cardio and calesthenic exercises. Following the warm ups and fitness is jiu jitsu (grappling) and mixed martial arts (kick boxing, wrestling, karate, etc.) techniques and drills. Towards the end of class students spar and grapple with other students; enabling them to test and improve their techniques and strategy.

Students should be agressive in their matches / fights but should always be humane and inflicting the least amount of injury possible.
